On this day in October 1924, Alice Beatrice Jones and Leonard Kip Rhinelander were wed by Mayor Harry Scott in the New Rochelle City Hall. Mr. Rhinelander was a long time resident of Manhattan. The new Mrs. Rhinelander had lived in New Rochelle since birth.

Two witnesses appeared for the couple, Mr. Harry A. Cole and Mr. W.R. Harman. The bride and the groom provided the same address as their residence for the marriage license. This address (763 Pelham Road, New Rochelle) was the home of the bride’s parents, and for a short while it would be the home of the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Leonard K. Rhinelander. The couple had become acquainted on the streets of New Rochelle only three years earlier in September of 1921.
